I was asked by Bumpershine to pick my short list for the Polaris Prize — I selected City and Colour’s “Bring Me Your Love” — no contest, Dallas is thrilling.
Monday night the top ten will be announced and then later the winner will be announced, so we’ll see who the awesomest Canadians are then, but for now, check out what the jury picked
He looks like someone’s grandfather… but this is a sad, sad thing where he attributes his “success” to superstition, destiny, irony and trendsetting moves like bootleg Yankee caps.

Hip-hop DJs, I challenge thee. Bring on the remixes, bring on the flow.
Girl Groups EXTRAVAGANZA!!
Sir Pall McCartney and I had a blast this morning trading favourite girl groups and tracks. So much so in fact, that we decided to include some of our agreed upon favourites in today’s Tuesday recommendation by SPM.
First up, the original catalyst for today’s girl-fest:
Jade - Don’t Walk Away - mp3
Keep going, the fun is just beginning!
The finale is a great video of the FIRST performance of a new girl group: The Damselles.
Enjoy!
SWV - Right Here [Human Nature Remix] - mp3
CLASSIC tune from the 90s… what a girl group!
We couldn’t celebrate the classic girl groups without including them.
He Makes Me So Mad - Hollywood Jills - mp3
“grinning when I slapped his face… ha!”
WHAT a gem!
